Kathmandu-Bhaktapur-Nagarkot Tour is a multi-day tour package that begins from exploring the historical civilization of Kathmandu. During your tour you will be visiting many UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It includes Kathmandu Durbar Square that houses the living Goddess Kumari, Swayambhunath Mahachaitya, the famous Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, a highly esteemed pilgrimage site for Hindus and Boudhanath among others.
Furthermore, the travelers then drive to Bhaktapur to visit the historic Durbar Square. Here you will be exploring four additional mini Durbar Squares. The tour then continues towards Nagarkot for an overnight stay. The next morning begins with a mesmerizing view of sunrise and beautiful surrounding mountains. After a delightful breakfast, the travelers proceed for a short hike towards Changunarayan. The tour then finally ends with a short drive back to Kathmandu.
Bhaktapur is an ancient city that is both the smallest district and the biggest Durbar Square of Nepal, Bhaktapur Durbar Square. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes four other smaller Durbar Squares within. Dattatreya Square is the oldest square among the four and is situated a little separated from the Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Another square known as ‘Pottery Square’ is famous for its name as the place is occupied by the potters mostly. Additionally, the view of live pottery here is a sight to sore eyes. You might as well try it for yourself. Moreover, Nyatapola Temple is another main attraction here for being the tallest five storied temple all over Nepal. It lies within the Durbar Square itself.
Nagarkot, a municipality at an elevation of 2195 meters, is considered one of the popular scenic spots inside Kathmandu Valley. Situated 28 km apart from Kathmandu, it is mostly famous for its sunrise with a panoramic view of the Himalayas including Mount Everest.
Nagarkot commands one of the broadest views of the Himalayas in Kathmandu valley (8 Himalayan Ranges of Nepal out of 13). The ranges include Annapurna Range, Manaslu Range, Ganesh Himal Range, Langtang Range, Jugal Range, Rolwaling Range, Mahalangur Range (Everest Range) and Numbur Range. Situated in a strategic location, Nagarkot was an ancient fort of the Kathmandu valley built to monitor the external activities of other kingdoms. Later, it became a summer retreat for the royal family before becoming a popular hill station.
Changu Narayan is an ancient Hindu temple, located on a high hilltop that is also known as Changu or Dolagiri in Changu Narayan Municipality of Bhaktapur District, Nepal. Moreover, the temple is considered to be one of the oldest temples in Nepal. Additionally, it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is held in special reverence by the Hindu people. In ancient times, the temple was surrounded by champak tree forest and a small village known as Changu. A Kashmiri king is said to have given his daughter, Champak, in marriage to the prince of Bhaktapur. The temple is considered to be named after her.
Note: For those outdoor enthusiasts, this tour also provides an option to choose between a hiking trip from Nagarkot to Changunarayan Temple. You may however skip the hike and choose the vehicle option as well.

For your 5-Days Kathmandu, Bhaktapur & Nagarkot Tour, you should plan to arrive in Kathmandu on Day 1 and depart on Day 5. However, having some extra one or two buffer days can prevent any issues with your return tickets.
Kathmandu, Bhaktapur & Nagarkot are modern cities and towns with all the amenities available when needed. You may thus pack what you really need during the trip and choose to wear as per your season of visit. Also during the afternoon, sunscreen is very crucial with proper eye shades as well. You might as well carry a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
The summers are moderately hot while the winters are cold enough to carry along a simple down jacket. Additionally, it is recommended to dress in layers if you are planning for the tour during mid winter to keep yourself warm. Similarly, if you want to go on your trip during the monsoon, you must have proper rain wear.
Once you’ve booked your flight ticket, please share the details with us so that we can provide you with a complimentary airport pickup. Our airport representative will then be waiting for you at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, holding our official name Cordial Trek and your nameplate as you exit the airport terminal. The actual touring days are from Day 2 to Day 4. The travelers begin their trip on Day 2 with a Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu. Here you will visit four UNESCO Heritage Sites in the city. The travelers on Day 3 then take a scenic ride to Nagarkot via Bhaktapur. On the way the travelers will explore the historic city of Bhaktapur and its Durbar Square. Day 4 begins with an early morning hike to Nagarkot View Tower for a mesmerizing view of sunrise and surrounding mountains.
The travelers will then take an optional hike to ChanguNarayan Temple after their morning breakfast. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu for your night halt. On Day 5, we will bid a final farewell and drop you back to the airport for your final departure.
Throughout the tour you’ll stay in a 3 Star Category Hotel with twin/double sharing beds. However, you may choose to upgrade your accommodation standards as per your requirements & comfort with additional costs.
Throughout the trip, your package includes breakfast only, typically served buffet-style. You may then choose to purchase your own lunch and dinner during the tour.
Bottled water is available along the tour. You may however choose to purchase your recommended brands of bottled water as well.
You should have some extra cash for your lunch and dinner throughout the tour. Also you may carry along some Nepali rupees for expenses such as tea, coffee, monuments fees & bottled drinks. Plan to carry about USD 80-100 equivalent Nepali rupees for the same. Additionally, set aside USD 30-50 for tipping tour guides. The amount can vary based on the level of service provided by the field staff members.
