Everest Budget Trek has a 14 Days itinerary planned focusing on travelers seeking a minimal expense trip to the base camp (5364 m / 17599 ft) of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world at 8848 m. The budget trek is specially designed targeting those adventurers who like to pay and decide for themselves. The package thus features a nominal cost that includes basic necessities. Moreover, this also helps the travelers to choose their own food during the trekking days.

Flight to Lukla

The journey begins with a thrilling 30 minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Despite being constructed in 1964 and paved in 2001, Lukla is still considered to be one of the most challenging airports in the world. Here you will meet with your supportive staff and begin your trek towards Everest.

The trip begins with the spectacular view of the Himalayas and a historic insight into the Sherpa Culture. Here you will also have a chance to unveil the ever mysterious existence of Yeti, the abominable snowman. The Yeti is believed to be an ape-like creature purported to inhabit the Himalayan mountain range in Asia. Many dubious articles have been offered in an attempt to prove the existence of the Yeti, including anecdotal visual sightings, disputed video recordings, photographs, and plaster casts of large footprints. Of course some of these are speculated or known to be hoaxes.

Namche Bazaar

The next halt for your trek will be at Namche Bazaar. It is the main trading center and hub for the Khumbu region. Namche Bazaar is also popular among trekkers for altitude acclimatization. The town has a number of lodgings and stores catering to the needs of visitors as well as a number of internet cafés. Additionally, there are German bakeries, little cafes and many restaurants in the town as well. Moreover, there is also an Irish pub, said to be the highest and most remote Irish pub in the world. A popular local meal is yak steak. On Saturday mornings, a weekly market is held in the center of the village.

Tengboche Monastery

The Tengboche Monastery highlights the next remarkable landmark of your journey. Nonetheless, it is the oldest and biggest monastery in the Khumbu region. Furthermore, there is a belief that the mountaineers and trekkers pray for a successful trip here before proceeding towards their final destination.

Gorakshep

Gorak Shep or Gorakshep is a small settlement that sits on the edge of a frozen lakebed covered with sand in Nepal with the same name. It is found at an elevation of 5,164 meters (16,942 ft) elevation, near Mount Everest. Also, in recent times, more modern amenities have become available in the region, such as high-speed internet access.

Everest Base Camp

The base camps are rudimentary campsites at the base of Mount Everest that are used by mountain climbers during their ascent and descent. Supplies are shipped to the Base Camp by porters, and with the help of animals, usually yaks. Not only do climbers rest at base camp for acclimatization, but also it reduces the risk of altitude sickness.

Kala Patthar

A notable landmark, Kala Patthar (5,644.5 m / 18,519 ft) is located on the south ridge of Pumori above Gorakshep. Kala Patthar is very popular with trekkers as it provides the most accessible closeup view of Everest.

The return journey

Finally, the memorable trip ends with a trek back to Lukla. The route mostly follows the same trails that were followed before. After arriving in Lukla, the trekkers bid a final farewell to their supportive staff while enjoying the evening dinner. The journey then proceeds towards Kathmandu the next morning boarding a 30 minute flight. Even though it ends, the Everest trek is bound to imprint a memory that lasts a lifetime of every visitor.
