Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lumbini Tour has a 7 Days itinerary planned that begins from exploring the historical civilization of Kathmandu Valley. Here visitors will get an insight into UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It includes Kathmandu Durbar Square that resides Living Goddess Kumari, Swayambhunath Mahachaitya, the famous Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, a highly esteemed pilgrimage site for Hindus and Boudhanath among others.

 

Pokhara

You will then be traveling to the beautiful city of Pokhara the next day. It is also the capital of Gandaki Province. Pokhara is located some 200 kilometers (120 miles) west of the capital, Kathmandu. Moreover, the city is on the shore of Phewa Lake and sits at an elevation of 830 m / 2723 ft above sea level. During the tour in Pokhara, visitors will also be visiting the very famous hill of Sarangkot. It is the viewpoint to a beautiful sunrise in the morning with a wide range of mountains.

 

The visible mountain range here are Machhapuchhre (6993 m / 22943 ft), the Fishtail Mountain, Annapurna I (8091 m / 26545 ft), the tenth highest peak in the world, Annapurna III-IV, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Lamjung Himal, and Dhaulagiri (8167 m / 26795 ft), the seventh highest peak in the world among others. Other highlights include Davis Fall, Gupteshwar Cave, World Peace Pagoda, boating in Phewa Lake and Bindhyabasini Temple among others.

 

Lumbini

Furthermore, on day five of your tour, you will be travelling from Pokhara to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. It is a pilgrimage site in Rupandehi District of Lumbini Province in Nepal. According to Buddhist mythology, Queen Maya Devi, belonging to the Shakya clan of Lumbini, gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama here in 566 BC. He (Siddhartha) later achieved enlightenment and became Shakyamuni Buddha. Additionally, Lumbini, an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, has the ancient Maya Devi Temple, historic Ashoka Pillar and many other monuments, monasteries and museums. The temple premises also includes Puskarini known as the Holy Pond. Here, Lord Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip prior to giving birth and where he himself (Siddhartha) had his first bath.

You may either pay USD 100 per person as a booking amount to confirm your trip or pay the full amount of USD 655 per person upfront. Moreover, if you opt for the booking, the remaining is payable via Online Portal / Card Swipe / Cash. We also accept all of the convertible currencies including USD, AUD, CAD, EURO, GBP, SGD, etc. when you arrive in Kathmandu.

 

Booking your International Flight:

For your 7-Days Kathmandu, Pokhara & Lumbini Tour, you should plan to arrive in Kathmandu on Day 1 and depart on Day 7. However, having some extra one or two buffer days can prevent any issues with your return tickets.

Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lumbini are modern cities with all the facilities available when needed. You may thus pack what you really need during the trip and choose to wear as per your season of visit. Also during the afternoon, sunscreen is very crucial with proper eye shades as well. You might as well carry a bottle of water to stay hydrated.

 

The summers are moderately hot while the winters are cold enough to carry along a simple down jacket. Additionally, it is recommended to dress in layers if you are planning for the tour during mid winter to keep yourself warm. Similarly, if you want to go on your trip during the monsoon, you must have proper rain wear.

 

Arrival information:

Once you’ve booked your flight ticket, please share the details with us so that we can provide you with a complimentary airport pickup. Our airport representative will then be waiting for you at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, holding our official name Cordial Trek and your nameplate as you exit the airport terminal. Additionally, if you’re arriving earlier, we can also arrange an accommodation for extra nights with add-on tours for additional cost.

 

Trip starting and ending days:

The actual touring days are from Day 2 to Day 6. The travelers begin their trip on Day 2 with a Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu. Here you will visit four UNESCO Heritage Sites in the city. The travelers on Day 3 then take a scenic Tourist Bus Ride to Pokhara to explore the city on Day 4. You will then take another scenic Tourist Bus Ride from Pokhara to Lumbini on Day 5. Here the travelers will explore the historic importance of Buddhist Pilgrimage Sites. The travelers will then take a bus ride back to Kathmandu on Day 6 to get a farewell and final departure on Day 7.

 

Accommodation in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lumbini:

Throughout the tour you’ll stay in a 3 Star Category Hotel with twin/double sharing beds. However, you may choose to upgrade your accommodation standards as per your requirements & comfort with additional costs.

 

Food:

In Kathmandu, Pokhara & Lumbini, your package includes breakfast only, typically served buffet-style. Except if you plan to leave for your trip early in the morning, you have an option to receive a packaged breakfast as well. You may choose to purchase your own lunch and dinner during the tour.

 

Drinking water:

Bottled water is available along the tour. You may however choose to purchase your recommended brands of bottled water as well.

 

Cash for extras and tipping:

You should have some extra cash for your lunch and dinner throughout the tour. Also you may carry along some Nepali rupees for expenses such as tea, coffee, monuments fees & bottled drinks. Plan to carry about USD 180-220 equivalent Nepali rupees for the same. Additionally, set aside USD 50-60 for tipping tour guides. The amount can vary based on the level of service provided by the field staff members.

 

Baggage and weight limit:

If you have items that you don’t need during the tour, you can leave them at your Kathmandu hotel for storage at no extra cost. But remember to take a photo of your bag-tag and keep it for easy identification in case the original tag is lost.

 

Note: If you choose to take a flight to Pokhara or Lumbini, the baggage limit is 25 kgs. You may pack your bag with 15-20 kgs and take a hand carry or backpack with 5-10 kgs to stay on the weight limit. However there are no restrictions on weight limit for Tourist Buses.

Travel Itinerary:

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 1350 m / 4429 ft)

On the first day of your trip, you will be arriving in Kathmandu via Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). A Cordial Trek representative will greet and pick you up from the airport. You will then check into a hotel and be briefed about your upcoming tour and get introduced to your guide.


In the evening, you are served with a welcome dinner and cultural program.

Day 2 : Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 1350 m / 4429 ft)

On day two you will be on a sightseeing tour in the historic city of Kathmandu. Here you will visit Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (Min Altitude: 830 m / 2723 ft)

On the third day of your trip, you will be traveling to Pokhara on a 6-7 hours drive (Deluxe Tourist Coach) from Kathmandu. You will then check into your hotel in Pokhara and explore the city for the day. The hotel will be your halt for the night.

 

Optional: You might book a 30 min flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

Day 4 : Sunrise and Sightseeing Tour in Pokhara (Min Altitude: 830 m / 2723 ft)

On day four you will be taking an early morning 10-15 min drive to Sarangkot Hill. Here you will be taking a short hike to Sarangkot Viewpoint. The viewpoint is famous for a mesmerizing sunrise through the mountains including Mt. Machhapuchhre, Mt. Annapurna I-IV, Mt. Annapurna South and Mt. Himchuli among others. After your breakfast you will then be exploring the very famous Phewa Lake, Davis Falls, Bindhyabasini Temple and Gupteshwor Cave in the city. A hotel in Pokhara will be your halt for the night.

Day 5 : Drive from Pokhara to Lumbini (Min Altitude: 150 m / 492 ft)

On day five you will be taking a 6-7 hours drive from Pokhara to Lumbini. Here after checking into your hotel, you will be enjoying a tour around the premises of ancient Maya Devi Temple. The area here consists of the historic Ashoka Pillar, Holy Pond and many other monasteries and monuments representing their unique Budhhist culture and traditions.

 

Later in the evening a hotel in Lumbini will be your halt for the night.

Day 6 : Drive back to Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 1350 m / 4430 ft)

On day six you will be on a 7-8 hours drive back to Kathmandu. A hotel in Kathmandu will be your halt for the night.

Day 7 : Final Departure

How can I get my ‘On Arrival’ Nepal Visa?

Any international traveler arriving by air can get an ‘On Arrival Visa’ at ‘Tribhuvan International Airport’ in Kathmandu. ‘Overland Travelers‘ may acquire an ‘On Arrival Visa’ at the entry points of Nepal-China / Nepal-India border at following locations:

Nepal is a moderately hot place during summer but its winter is cold. You may likewise choose any outfit comfortable to you according to your season of visit.
