The country has a population of over 777,486 and territory of 38,394 square kilometers. It thus ranks 133rd in terms of land area and 160th in population. Bhutan is a constitutional monarchy with a king (Druk Gyalpo) as the head of state and a prime minister as the head of government. Regarding your booking, please select one of the two available options. You may either pay USD 200 per person as a deposit amount to confirm your trip. Or, you may as well pay the full amount of USD 1599 per person to confirm your trip. If you want to go for the booking option, the remaining is payable via Online Portal / Card Swipe / Cash. We also accept all convertible currencies including USD, AUD, CAD, EURO, GBP, SGD, etc. when you arrive in Kathmandu.

 

Booking Your International Flight:

For your 10-Days Nepal-Bhutan Holiday Tour, you should plan to arrive in Kathmandu on Day 1 and depart on Day 10. Also regarding your international flight tickets from Kathmandu to Bhutan, you can request us for the same or book it yourself.

 

Arrival Information:

Once you’ve booked your flight ticket, please share the details with us. Our airport representatives will then be waiting for you at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, holding our official name ‘Cordial Trek’ and your nameplate as you exit the airport terminal. Additionally, if you’re arriving earlier, we can arrange accommodation for extra nights and add-on tours as well for additional cost and provide complimentary airport pickup.

 

Accommodation during the trip:

You’ll stay in a 3 Star Category Hotel with twin / double sharing beds throughout the trip. However you may choose to upgrade your accommodation as per your requirements and comfort with additional costs.

 

Food in Nepal:

In Kathmandu & Pokhara, your package includes breakfast only, typically served buffet-style. Except for the day when you might need to leave for your trip/flight early in the morning, you’ll receive a packed breakfast. You may then choose to purchase your own lunch and dinner throughout the trip in Nepal.

 

Transportation in Nepal:

For your intercity transfers in Nepal, you will be provided with a luxurious Tourist Coach. While for your sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and Pokhara you will be provided with an air conditioned private vehicle.

 

Bhutan visa requirements:

The travelers must pre acquire their Bhutan Visa (e-Visa) before flying into the country. It will be stamped upon travelers arrival at Paro International Airport. We will process and issue the visas for all of our travelers. The travelers must however provide us with the necessary documents beforehand. It includes the following:

 

a. Color scanned copy of your valid passport,

b. One passport size photograph (digital),

c. International flight tickets (to and from Bhutan)

d. Travel insurance

e. At least 2 weeks for normal processing the visa application

f. At least 3-4 working days during urgency for processing visa applications

 

Arrival at the Paro International Airport:

We will provide you with complimentary airport transfer in Nepal for your Bhutan flight. One of our representatives will then be waiting for you at the Paro International Airport in Bhutan. He/She will be carrying your namecard to meet and greet you with warm hospitality. You will then be transferred to a hotel in Thimpu.

 

Transportation in Bhutan:

For your intercity & airport transfers alongside sightseeing tours in Bhutan, you will be provided with an air conditioned private vehicle.

 

Food in Bhutan:

Your trip includes full board meals with tea/coffee throughout your tour in Bhutan. You may thus choose from a menu offering local and international cuisines.

 

Packing for the trip:

Nepal and Bhutan both have changing weather conditions as per your season of visit. You may want to pack some warm clothes if you are traveling during the winter. Or else summer is the best time to explore the region light and zippy. So plan to pack accordingly.

 

Tour Starting and Ending Days:

Your trip begins on Day 1 with your arrival in Nepal. You will then go for a full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu on Day 2. Travelers on Day 3 will be taking a scenic Bus Ride to Pokhara. You will then explore the beautiful city of Pokhara on Day 4. The travelers will then return back to Kathmandu on Day 5.

 

Day 6 begins with an early morning flight to Paro, Bhutan. Here the travelers will spend 3 Nights and 4 Days to return back to Kathmandu on Day 9. We will then bid a farewell and drop you back to the airport for your final departure on Day 10.

 

Baggage and Weight Limit:

On your international flight to Bhutan, the total baggage weight allowance is 35 kgs, combining both checked and carry-on baggage. Ensure you pack approximately 25-30 kilos in your checked bag and 5-10 kilos in your carry-on to stay within the 35-kilo limit.

Travel Itinerary:

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 1350 m / 4429 ft)

On the first day of your trip, you will be arriving in Kathmandu via Tribhuvan International Airport. A Cordial Trek representative will greet and pick you up from the airport. You will then check into a hotel and be briefed about your upcoming tour and get introduced to your guide. In the evening, you will be enjoying a Nepali Dinner with cultural program.

Day 2 : Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 1350 m / 4429 ft)

On day two you will be on a sightseeing tour in the historic city of Kathmandu. Here you will visit seven of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. They are Swayambhunath, The Monkey Temple, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Changunarayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (Min Altitude: 830 m / 2723 ft)

The third day of your trip begins with a 6-7 hours drive (Private Vehicle) from Kathmandu to Pokhara. You will then check into your hotel in Pokhara and explore the city for the day. The hotel will be your halt for the night.

 

Optional: You might book a 30 min flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

Day 4 : Sightseeing Tour in Pokhara (Min Altitude: 830 m / 2723 ft)

On day four you will be taking an early morning drive (10-15 min) to Sarangkot Hill. Here you will be taking a short hike to Sarangkot Viewpoint. The viewpoint is famous for a mesmerizing sunrise through the mountains including Mt. Machhapuchhre, Mt. Annapurna I-IV, Mt. Annapurna South and Mt. Himchuli among others.

 

After your breakfast you will be exploring Davis Falls, Bindhyabasini Temple, Mountain Museum, Gupteshwor Cave and Phewa Lake in the city. The visitors will also be taken on a one hour boat ride in Phewa lake and explore the island temple Tal Barahi. A hotel in Pokhara will then be your halt for the night.

Day 5 : Drive back to Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 1350 m / 4430 ft)

On day five, the travelers will take a 5-6 hours drive (Private Vehicle) back to Kathmandu. A hotel in Kathmandu will be your halt for the night.

Day 6 : Fly to Paro and Thimphu Sightseeing (Max Altitude: 2334 m / 7657 ft)

Day six of your trip begins with a short drive to Kathmandu airport after your morning breakfast. The visitors will then be taking a one hour flight to Paro, Bhutan. After your immigration formalities you will then be received by your guide and driver.

 

The travelers will then be escorted on a two hours drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. On your way you will visit the Memorial Stupa built in the memory of the third King of Bhutan. You will then be visiting Buddha Dordenma, a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan. It celebrates the 60th anniversary of the fourth King Jigme Singye Wangchuck. The statue began to be built in 2005 and completed in 2015. It is a 52-meter-high statue built with 125000 smaller buddha statues.

 

You will end your day with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, a Buddhist monastery and fortress on the northern edge of the city. It has traditionally been the seat of the Druk Desi (or “Deb Raja”), the head of Bhutan’s civil government, an office which has been combined with the kingship since the creation of the monarchy in 1907. A hotel in Thimpu will then be your halt for the night.

Day 7 : Thimphu-Punakha Roundtrip (Max Altitude: 2800 m / 9185 ft)

On the seventh day of your trip, you will be on a 7-8 hour round trip from Thimpu to Punakha, the capital of Bhutan until 1955. On your way you will be stopping at Dochula Pass for a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and scenic views of beautiful landscapes. During the trip you will also be visiting Chimi Lhakhang Temple of Fertility and the Punakha Dzong, a beautiful fortress built by Zhandrung in 1637. A hotel back in Thimpu will be your halt for the night.

Day 8 : Drive back to Paro and visit Paro Taktsang (Min Altitude: 2200 m / 7218 ft)

Day eight of your tour begins with a 1-2 hour drive back from Thimpu to Paro. At Paro you will drive up to the base camp of Taktsang and then hike up to the most famous monastery in all of Bhutan, the Tiger’s Nest. It is perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. The Temple was blessed by Guru Rinpoche in the 8th Century after he meditated there for 3 years, 3 months and 3 days.

 

On your way back you will also be visiting the Kyichu Temple, one of the oldest (c. 7th Century) in Paro. In the evening, you will be visiting one of the farm houses in Paro to experience Bhutanese life-style with organic Bhutanese Dinner before your night halt.

 

Hike Distance: 12.8 km / 8 miles (5-6 hour round trip)

Day 9 : Fly back to Kathmandu and visit Chandragiri Hills (Max Altitude: 2551 m / 8370 ft)

On day nine, the visitors will be taking a one hour flight back to Kathmandu. A Cordial Trek representative will then transfer the guests to a hotel in Kathmandu. The travelers will then go for a full day Chandragiri Hills Tour for a joyful Cable Car ride.

Any international traveler arriving by air can get an ‘On Arrival Visa’ at ‘Tribhuvan International Airport’ in Kathmandu. ‘Overland Travelers‘ may acquire an ‘On Arrival Visa’ at the entry points of Nepal-China / Nepal-India border at following locations:

Can I book this package as a solo traveler ?

Yes, we do book a solo traveler. However a single traveler surcharge may be applied (an additional USD 500).

How can I get my Bhutan visa and travel permits?

You need not worry about getting your Bhutan visa nor any of your travel permits. We will arrange all your travel permits as well as Bhutan visa for you before your arrival. A copy of your visa and necessary travel permits will be emailed to you before your arrival in Bhutan.

 

Note: We will however require a colored scanned copy of your passport, one passport size photograph (a digital image may suffice) and a copy of your international flight tickets to Paro International airport in Bhutan.

Are there any other hidden costs?

No, there are no hidden costs in this travel package. Only costs excluded from your pay are Lunch and Dinner in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
