The Annapurna Circuit Short 10 Days Trek is a compact yet unforgettable journey into the heart of the Himalayas. Moreover, this trip begins with arrival in Kathmandu and concludes with a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, combining cultural immersion, stunning landscapes, and the thrill of high-altitude trekking. Nonetheless, it covers the essential highlights of the Annapurna region, including alpine villages, terraced valleys, and the iconic Thorong La Pass (5,416 m).
Your adventure begins in Kathmandu with your arrival and hotel transfer. Here, you will meet your trekking team and prepare for the journey ahead. In the meantime, you can rest and adjust to the Nepalese environment before the drive to Besisahar the following day.
The next morning, a scenic drive takes you to Besisahar, where your permits will be checked and you will rest for the night. The following day, the journey continues to Chame (2,670 m), the welcoming gateway to the Annapurna region. Along the way, you pass terraced fields, rivers, and small hillside villages. From Chame, the trek officially begins, winding gradually through forests, streams, and traditional settlements. As a result, you start to experience the changing landscapes and rural culture of the region.
Over the next few days, the trail leads through villages such as Lower Pisang, Upper Pisang, and Manang (3,540 m). Meanwhile, the scenery transforms from lush green forests to alpine meadows and high-altitude desert. At the same time, trekkers witness Tibetan-influenced culture, ancient monasteries, and colorful prayer walls. Above it all, towering peaks such as Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and Tilicho Peak create breathtaking vistas.
A vital stop on the trek is Manang, where trekkers spend an extra day to acclimatize. During this time, you can explore nearby viewpoints, visit monasteries, or enjoy the serene alpine lakes. Not only does this help prevent altitude sickness, but it also provides an opportunity to experience the tranquil beauty of the high Himalayas.
The highlight of the trek is Thorong La Pass (5,416 m). Without a doubt, this is the most challenging section, yet it is also the most rewarding. Early in the morning, you begin the ascent under a starry sky. Step by step, the trail rises through rocky and icy terrain. As a result, the summit offers panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu, a truly unforgettable moment.
After crossing the pass, the trail descends to Muktinath (3,760 m), a sacred pilgrimage site. Along the way, villages like Jomsom showcase high-altitude desert landscapes and Tibetan-influenced architecture. Finally, you board a short flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, enjoying aerial views of the peaks and valleys you traversed.
Finally, the trek concludes in Pokhara with a chance to celebrate the unforgettable landscapes, culture, and challenges you have experienced. Here, you may relax by Phewa Lake and reflect on your Himalayan adventure.
